Crush on the Magic

Disney Treasure

Back in December, I had the privilege of experiencing Disney Cruise Line’s newest ship in the fleet, the Disney Treasure, as part of a media preview event. This means I was hosted by Disney Cruise Line to tour and experience the ship prior to it’s first sailing with clients on board. Opportunities such as the one I participated in are a way for the crew to practice on guests such as cast members, media, travel advisors, etc., so that they may improve and and perfect the guest experience prior it’s launch to the public. It’s also an opportunity for Disney Cruise Line to film ship spaces and experiences, host media for marketing and promotional purposes and provides those of us the sales industry a chance to view guest amenities and spaces so that we/they can be trained on the ship’s offerings and experiences.

The sailing I experienced was a 3 night cruise with a day at sea and a day at Castaway Cay. This provided us many opportunities for touring and visiting ship spaces with planned activities for touring a variety of staterooms as well as the ability to meet some of the Imagineering team who helped make the ship come alive with it’s stories and unique vibe. We were able to enjoy both Beauty and the Beast and the all new Moana Broadway style show that was created for the Disney Treasure. We were also able to enjoy all three of the rotational dining spaces, Plaza de Coco, Worlds of Marvel and 1923.

The Disney Treasure is a sister ship to the previously launched Disney Wish (2022) and to the forthcoming Disney Destiny (early winter 2025). While the Disney Wish takes an overall more whimsical and fairytale approach to it’s aesthtic and vibe, the Disney Treasure is all about adventure in every sense of your imagination.

Keeping with similarities of the Disney Wish, you will find Worlds of Marvel rotational dining (although with different story lines and dining experiences), Marceline Market (Deck 11 buffet style dining), as well as the youth clubs Vibe, Edge, Oceaneer’s Club and It’s a Small World Nursery to be nearly identical on the Treasure. Palo, Enchante, Senses Spa and Fitness Centers, the Hero Zone as well as Hook’s Barbery, Tangled Salon and Bibbidi Bobbidi. Boutique are also on board both ships and located in the same areas.

Personal highlights about the Disney Treasure for me were definitely the spaces which played homage to the Disney Parks. The Haunted Mansion Parlour and the Tomorrow Tower Suite (14000), themed to all things EPCOT. I also appreciated the respect for classics like The Aristocats at the Scat Cat Lounge. The themes and story lines that are building during your adventure at sea all come together at the end of your cruise, with a can’t miss presentation in the Grand Hall called “Treasure Found” (scene shown above).

At this point in my Disney Cruise line sailing experience, the only ship I have left to have sailed is the Disney Magic. Thus, based on my personal experience, I would say this is my favorite ship thus far. The theming and shows fit seamlessly together while also being a comfortable ship size with familiar amenities. Bonus of the Disney Treasure is that it for those of us who love a longer cruise, it is currently offering 7 night sailings (Eastern and Western Caribbean) from Orlando (PCN).

Overall, I feel like every Disney Cruise Line ship is unique and offers it’s own special feel while also providing the comforting feeling of being the Disney brand experience. The experiences you may have on board often highly depend on the mix of your travel party, as well as considerations to the itinerary a ship is sailing. Each ship is equipped to provide a wonderful multi-gen family experience as well as adult-only experience. Whether you are seeking family time, solo time, (or in most cases, a mix), it’s all possible on any of the ships in the fleet.
