Crush on the Magic

Beginning mid-August, Mickey’s Not So Scary Halloween Party takes over Magic Kingdom park on select nights from August through October 31. During “party season” (essentially Halloween and Christmas), Magic Kingdom Park closes early to day guests (those with base or Park Hopper ticket admission) and switches over to a special ticketed event. Event tickets will typically allow guests in a few hours before their event to enjoy the park before the party begins. Parties usually run about 5-6 hours in length.

Mickey’s Not So Scary allows guests entrance at 4pm. At this time, party maps(guides) and wristbands are distributed. Guests can enjoy the park like a regular ticketed guest. At 6pm, the park closes to anyone without the party ticket (wristband). At this time, guests of the party can continue to enjoy attractions in the park as the day crowd filters out. At 7pm, the park transforms into full party mode! Specialty food, drinks, lights, sounds, attractions all start at 7pm.

What’s special about the party? The Boo to You Parade, fireworks and stage shows, special character meet and greets and attraction overlays (think lights and sounds!) fill the park. And… lots of great candy at various trick or treat stops around the park. If you love candy, here’s your chance to load up on lots of Mars candy treats. If you or someone in your party have allergies, there are special treat stops and offerings for those with allergies. See Guest Services to obtain your allergy friendly bag and directions for obtaining your treats.

While the party is a premium experience, you are getting things that you do not get during the daytime. The party is also what you make it. Knowing what your family enjoys experiencing and what goals you would have for the party will help make your experience a success. Dress up or skip the costume, it’s up to you! Dressing up is tons of fun and seeing what other people create for these events is one of the highlights of attending the party. Be aware that there are costume guidelines during the daytime hours and during the event (i.e. Adults cannot wear face coverings, no toy weapons, etc.). Always, consult the Walt Disney World website for the most up to date costume guidelines.
