Crush on the Magic

A blog by Blair Crush, Travel Advisor, Crush on the Magic, LLC

October 2026 marks 7 years in the travel industry as an independent full time travel advisor. Seven years ago, I took a leap and invested in myself.

It has been quite the whirlwind of life and experience. When I first started, I was mainly focused on Disney and Universal destinations. I never thought much on cruising or how I would expand my expertise. During the Covid-19 shut down, I spent a lot of time investing in professional development. I dug into brands and products such as Royal Caribbean, Sandals and spent a lot of time learning as much as I could about the destinations I was selling heavily (hello Disney!). Now, seven years later, I am digging deeper into cruising and Caribbean destinations and dipping my toes in destinations like Italy and France!

This career path is not for the weak! Every day can be a challenge and rewarding– simultaneously. Folks think it’s all fun and free travel, when in reality, it’s a lot of random working hours, being on call for at destination guests and very little (if any) “free” travel. I’ve spent a large part of my time over the years investing in client and mentor relationships and building structure and processes for my business as a full time professional.

In destination training!

Present life, where everything is available online, whether accurate or not, has made this role challenging; however, it’s been a challenge I’ve been willing to continue to accept day after day.

I wouldn’t be here without my the support of my husband, kids and closest pals. They have pitched in and supported me in ways you never see (all behind the scenes) and for that I am forever grateful. A HUGE THANK YOU goes out to my clients, who stick with me and return time after time, working with me on their next adventure and whom refer me to their families and friends. Without my husband, kids and loyal clients, I would never have survived seven years.

Cheers to seven years! And cheers to many more years filled with many more adventures for all!

Thank You!
