It’s hard to believe that this time a year ago I was finishing up my initial on-boarding and training to become a vacation planner with Wicked Mouse Travel. I hit the ground running, learning as much as I can and helping folks plan amazing vacations! It was so thrilling and exciting! It was also very scary to embark on a new career. I have always loved travel and my background has been heavy in planning and logistics. It was time to take a leap of faith in myself!
I think it would be more than adequate to say that this past year has been challenging on us all. We hit a HUGE road block/hurdle in early March when COVID showed up on our doorsteps. While this could have really been a downer and an excuse to quit this new career I was only six months into, I flipped the script. I have used this extraordinary time to focus on things that really matter: my kids/family, health and continuous educational training. From learning more about the cruise industry to the latest policies and procedures regarding COVID, I’ve been digging in. I even took a 6 week course on OVERCOMING FEAR! EEK!

I am a learning nerd. Becoming a vacation planner has been one of the best decisions i’ve ever made. The unlimited opportunity to learn and extraordinary opportunities to connect with people and help them make memories with their loved ones is beyond my wildest expectations.
Fear (and COVID) could have crippled me but the leap has been even better than I could have anticipated. Although COVID certainly dampened my momentum I have not let it ruin my spirit and love for helping others. I am especially grateful for our agency owner, Willie Crocker, for providing me with this opportunity as well as his guidance.
I look forward many, many more years of building relationships and helping families make unforgettable memories! Cheers to one year!
