There have been many recent updates to Disney Genie+ at Walt Disney World in the last several weeks. One update involves the addition of EPCOT’s newest attraction, Guardian’s of the Galaxy: Cosmic Rewind. You can read about those changes here.

Bundling Disney Genie+ in your vacation package

Other recent announcements to Genie+ impact the ability to put Disney Genie+ on Walt Disney World vacation packages. As of June 8, 2022, Genie+ will no longer be permitted to be bundled and added to a Walt Disney World vacation package. If you added Genie+ to your vacation package prior to June 8, the purchase will remain valid and you can keep on your package. Any packages booked or modified on or after June 8, will no longer have the option of pre-purchasing the plan. Instead, guests will have to purchase Genie+ each day of their valid admission and Park Pass Reservation. Purchases for Genie+ can begin anytime after Midnight on the day of admission and valid Park Pass Reservation and is purchased within the MyDisneyExperience app.

Another big change is that Disney has stated that the availability to purchase Disney Genie+ can be capped, meaning sold out and no longer available on select days, (like how Individual Lightning Lanes sell out each morning). Disney Genie+ can be purchased beginning at Midnight of your planned and reserved park day. The first lanes can be booked beginning at 7am that morning. Thus, it is possible that if you wait until 7am on your park day for Disney Genie+ to be sold out and not available to buy and book. You still have the option to purchase two Individual Attraction Lightning Lanes at 7am (assuming you are a Walt Disney World resort guest. 🙂 )

Individual Attraction Selection Changes

Beginning May 31, the current lineup of Individual Attraction Selections (aka Individual paid Lightning Lanes) that can be purchased beginning at 7am, for Walt Disney World Resort guests with valid admission include:

Pandora: World of Avatar – Flight of Passage ( Animal Kingdom)

*Expedition Everest

Magic Kingdom

Seven Dwarves Mine Train

*Space Mountain

EPCOT

Guardians of the Galaxy: Cosmic Rewind

*Froze Ever After

*Remy’s Ratatouille Adventure

Hollywood Studios

Star Wars: Rise of the Resistance ( Hollywood Studios)

*Mickey and Minnie’s Runaway Railway

*Currently suspended through Summer 2022 and are included as part of the Genie+ program rather than an additional individual LL purchase.
