Walt Disney World has a lot of exciting things happening this summer so I am thrilled that we are headed there soon! Many attractions have had recent refurbishments and new areas are opening around the Walt Disney World resort!
Here are a few you may not be aware of:
Magic Kingdom
Big Thunder Mountain – Complete track replacement, cart replacements and experiential enhancements. The “wildest ride in the wilderness” is on of my family’s absolute favorites. A must-do, mutiple times, every trip!
Buzz Lightyear Ranger Spin – Updates to the lasers and targets, queue updates and more! This has become a huge hit since it open in April.
Special events for Summer 2026 – Toy Story themed entertainment opportunity inside the Golden Horseshoe (next door Liberty Tree) – this is part of Cool Kid Summer!
Hollywood Studios
The Muppets are are back!!! Rockin’ Roller Coaster now featuring the Muppets has now opened. The ride experience was re-themed to all things Muppets.
Animation Courtyard – what is old is new, again! This area also got a complete overhaul and is opening this week! Character interactions, play areas, drawing experiences and more!
Animal Kingdom
BLUEY and BINGO – shall we saw more? Be sure to grab a virtual queue for the experience and hope on the train and you’ll be on your way to adventures with Bluey and Bingo (and some animals from Down Under!).
EPCOT
Celebrate America’s 250th anniversary with Soarin’ Across America! A limited time Soarin’ has been released in celebration of America’s birthday!
Cool Kid Summer dance parties and more!
Water Parks are open and FREE on check-in day for Walt Disney World Resort guests!
Yes! Both Blizzard Beach and Typhoon Lagoon are open this summer and admission is free on check-in day for guests who are staying at a Walt Disney World Resort hotel!
Resort guests will also have a chance to meet their favorite characters are their resort hotel. Caravans of Disney friends will be making their way around the Walt Disney World Resorts this summer!
AND– If you have kiddos ages 3-9, they can eat free* in 2026 with a Walt Disney World resort package with paid adult dining plans! This can be an incredible savings for families looking to visit Walt Disney World this year!
