Did you know you can use a combination of Disney Gift Cards, credit cards and Disney Rewards (from the Disney Visa card) to pay for your Disney vacation?

Many folks looking to save some money on their everyday expenses while also saving for vacation often use methods like purchasing Disney gift card with Target Red Cards for Target cash back, purchase gift cards on promotion at their local grocery or big box club (Kroger, Sam’s, Costco). These are all great ways to save in other areas of your life while also applying future funds toward Disney expenses.

Disney Gift Cards are available through DisneyStore.com, DisneyGiftCard.com, Disney Destinations and various local retailers. Be careful when you purchase. Keep your receipts and track your balances!

When using Disney gift cards, there are a few key things to remember:

  • You never want to through the gift cards away (until you have traveled and the money can no longer be refunded). In the event you cancel a trip and if you are ever eligible for a refund, Disney will always return the money to the original form of payment.
  • You should consolidate the cards into larger increments and register them on DisneyGiftCard.com
    1. This helps make the process of spending the money much easy as there are often limits to how many gift cards that can be keyed on a single transaction on Disney websites.
    2. When you register your cards on the Disney Gift Card website you can only keep up to five gift cards loaded on the site at any time.
    3. The site helps you manage your transactions/see the transactions and keep track of your balances. This is good at keeping you from experiencing fraudulent actions on the cards as you can see the transactions and keeps the liability that the cards will get wiped because you are removing the money from one card to another. If you are purchasing from the grocery store or online, I highly recommend moving the funds off those cards into a card you may have purchased in purchase at Disney previously or one you had ordered and mailed to you. This can help lower the risk that a scammer has access to your card number. There are always stories on the news of grocery stores and online sales being hacked and the cards drained. You can minimize your risk by limiting how many cards you have and how many you have with balances on them purchased from somewhere a scammer has easy access.

Disney Rewards/Disney Visa

If you are a Disney Destination regular, a Disney Visa may make sense for you. There are a few options, from Disney Visa debits to free and premium fee Disney Visa’s through Chase. Depending on the Visa you choose, determines the level of rewards you are eligible to earn. Additionally, Disney occasionally will offer discounted room and packages for destinations if you utilize your Disney Visa for payment. In 2026, Chase began offering the Inspire Disney Visa card which is a higher annual fee card but offers higher rewards incentives. This card can be great for those who visit the parks and resorts regularly.
